Video Case Study: Why Home Hardware Chose BES12 for EMM

We’ve got a new video case study to share with you.

Home Hardware Stores Limited is Canada’s largest Dealer-owned hardware, lumber, building materials and furniture cooperative. The company is owned by close to 1,100 independent small business operators from every corner of the country.

Home Hardware Stores Limited recently adopted BES12 to manage its complex mobility environment. In this two-minute story, you’ll hear John R. Dixon, Director, Corporate Infrastructure, talk about why security matters to Home Hardware and how BES12 is helping them to easily deploy applications and manage their mobile environment.

Flexible and Secure

Home Hardware staff have been dedicated BlackBerry users for years, and with BES12, administrators can now manage their new and legacy BlackBerry smartphones. Adopting BES12 also leaves the door open for bringing iOS, Android, Windows and soon Samsung KNOX enabled devices into the environment on one Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platform.
In the video, John comments that BlackBerry’s mobile app management capabilities are better than a lot of the other options on the market. Company-approved productivity apps can be pushed out to devices individually or can be downloaded from the app catalogue – and from there, IT can manage each app with precise control throughout its lifecycle.

With BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic devices, Home Hardware is able to use BlackBerry Blend in their environment. BlackBerry Blend is software that can be downloaded for your computer and tablet that seamlessly and securely brings messaging and content that’s on your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer and tablet. As a result, employees are increasingly bringing their personal iPads and Android tablets to work. As Dixon points out, BES12 allows the option for personal preference while giving the organization full management control of devices, particularly when they’re using Blend.

Making Management Easy

Adding, managing, and removing devices is simple, regardless of platform. A minimalist design approach provides a very clean and intuitive user interface for administrators, making a multi-platform environment easy to manage for all user, device and server configurations.

And as always, BlackBerry Technical Support is there to help. Dixon explains that the support they receive from BlackBerry is always handled very well and very quickly. To hear it in his own words, why not take two minutes and check out the video.
